For some reason, my brother’s band using my sister’s lyrics filled me with a surge of outrage and irritation that tipped the scales of my drama dilemma. I didn’t know what the connection was, or if I was now somehow competing with a seven-year-old, but by the time the band packed up and left, I knew that if I was offered a part in the play I would take it.

The phrase “I’ll show them” seemed to be rattling around somewhere in my brain, though who they were, and what it was I’d be showing them, I had no idea.
